The Hockessin, Del.-based Produce for Better Health Foundation released the research it commissioned from the NPD Group on fruit and vegetable consumption across all age groups. The research compared consumption for 2004-09 with the previous five years:
- For children under the age of 6, fruit consumption increased 11% and vegetable consumption 3%; and
- For children ages 6-12, fruit consumption increased 7% and vegetable consumption 2%
